Of the significant number of end markets, KAM is focused on just three – Distribution, Education and Commercial. By being focused in this way we can provide highly specialist and relevant advice to our clients. KAM are not generalists.
Taking our name from ‘Key Account Management’, we have a management strategy of focussing on key clients who receive an uncompromising service every time they engage with us. Our benchmark of delivering excellent service ensures that our clients return for more and make referrals to their contacts seeking a service level they can respect, appreciate and trust. Our KAM team are driven by client retention. We appreciate that ensuring high standards of customer care on current projects can secure the future relationship and commissions. Our methodology aims to ensure we understand your needs, align ourselves with your requirements and develop an everlasting relationship.
KAM owners are Kevin Sims and Mike Wilcock, formerly with Davis Langdon and latterly Davis Langdon an AECOM Company. Kevin founded the Industrial team in 1990 and this was subsequently headed up by Mike in 2007. We base ourselves in Milton Keynes from where we serve clients nationally and internationally.
Kevin was with Davis Langdon for 27 years, rising from surveyor to Board member for a continuous 8 year period until the sale to AECOM.
Kevin established the distribution and logistics team back in 1990, with Gazeley entrusting a single speculative warehousing unit at Optima Park, Crayford. This project was delivered by Kevin and Mike and a passion for the sector evolved. Gazeley entrusted further projects and in 1998, the team secured the Astral Developments account. From there, projects mushroomed.
Prior to that spell, Kevin was Davis Langdon account partner for University of Cambridge; St John’s, Magdalene and Churchill Colleges Cambridge undertaking a host of projects over a 12 year continuous period including the award winning Moeller Centre and St John’s library projects.
Latterly Kevin has spent 5 years with Davis Langdon in the Middle East, as Board member for that region. Upon returning, Kevin spotted the market gap for an owner/director PM/QS business focused on the distribution sector which was about to emerge from a long ‘flat’ period.
Mike’s career has been exclusively at Davis Langdon, joining as a graduate in Cambridge in 1987 and rising to partner during his 26 year career.
From supporting at Optima Park, Mike became the Gazeley key account partner and went on to manage several million square feet successfully for them. In 2007, Mike took over the leadership of Davis Langdon’s Industrial sector and advanced it in a difficult market with work from Bericote Properties, JD Sports, Sainsbury’s, Rolls-Royce, AG Barr, Brake Bros, Waitrose, ASDA and of course continuing with Gazeley an account that was held continuously and successfully for 16 years.
Between them, Mike and Kevin have more than 25 years of distribution experience to bring to bear on new projects for KAM clients.
