Brown and Mason Explosive Event - Littlebrook Power Station - 9 June 2018

The demolition of Littlebrook Power Station split into three phases in anticipation of future development of the 125 acre site area.

Existing structures on the site include a range of buildings constructed in the 1930’s, 40’s, 70’s and 80’s, comprising turbine halls, heavy fuel oil storage tanks and associated power generation infrastructure.

The site was originally a coal fired power station and later developed to burn heavy fuel oils. The residue left by these power generation processes requires intensive environmental cleaning during the demolition process.
