Construction of six employment units in North London.
The project comprised the construction of six employment units ranging from 7,000 sq ft to 27,000 sq ft. Each unit incorporated sustainability features including the latest generation of solar PV panels, achieving EPC A+ ratings and BREEAM Excellent certification.
The site was previously occupied by a paint manufacturing factory which had been demolished prior to KAM’s involvement. There were areas of localised contamination on the site which needed to be cleared up before redevelopment could proceed. KAM worked closely with the contractor and specialist geotechnical consultant in order to fully remediate the site.
As the site was in close proximity to a block of apartments and a number of other business units, careful consultation and negotiation was required to keep disruption and nuisance to an absolute minimum.
The site contained several existing services that required diversion or removal. An on-site substation, which was supplying other premises around the site, had to be decommissioned and constructed elsewhere on the site. KAM managed all aspects of the service diversions and coordinated the numerous easements, leases and other legal agreements required by the statutory authorities.
